Last year, Mahmoud Khalil, a Palestinian green-card holder studying at Columbia University, became the first student to face deportation for inciting chaos on college campuses for the sake of the pro-terror “Global Intifada.”
The Red-Green alliance of Islamists, Marxists, and anarchists immediately depicted him as a mere protester whose only sin was expressing an opinion critical of Israel. The media regurgitated their press releases and chants, transforming him into a superstar activist practically overnight. The Trump administration offered only a vague justification for Khalil’s deportation, and the PR battle was being won by Khalil and pro-Hamas, so-called “civil rights” groups that rallied to his defense, like the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) . But the Glenn Beck Program had a mission-driven audience that I knew could turn this around, and you did.
Khalil belonged to a coalition of about 100 groups named Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD) , with Students for Justice in Palestine at its core. We had identified it as one of the most important organizations in a network of over 150 pro-terrorism groups that were organizing the post-October 7 protests on college campuses.
I gathered even more incontrovertible proof that Khalil’s group was trying to incite terrorism on U.S. soil, including the destruction of campus property, and ultimately sought to vanquish the West, and released it all an article for Blaze Media titled ” 15 Smoking Guns that Show Mahmoud Khalil is a Terror Threat,” then appeared on the Glenn Beck Program to equip the audience with the evidence. It spread like wildfire. Turns out, we made the Red-Green alliance mad. The information shared about Khalil became a key part of the Trump administration’s case against him, and Khalil’s defenders, the Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) , complained they had been stymied.
“[Mauro] has authored multiple articles and tweets that have called for Khalil’s deportation and that were prominently featured in the Government’s filings opposing Khalil’s asylum application,” CCR complained. CCR’s complaint omits a key fact it apparently preferred to conceal: like the group Khalil was part of, CCR itself was identified in the report as one of the 150+ pro-terrorism organizations within the protest network.
Shortly after the October 7 attacks, CCR published a statement defending the atrocities as permissible under international law and describing the Hamas-led terrorists as “resistance fighters.” CCR also had a direct link to an operative for the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), a designated Marxist-Leninist terrorist group involved in the October 7 attacks. From 2006 to 2009, CCR’s advocacy program manager was Charlotte Kates (per her LinkedIn). In 2011, she became International Coordinator of Samidoun (Palestinian Prisoner Solidarity Network) , a role she held until November 2024, when the U.S. and Canadian governments designated Samidoun a front for the PFLP.
